Liam is the reporter for The Business on Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ Radio 1, and has been on the team since 2012. He travels all across Ireland interviewing a diverse range of people from the business world and beyond, creating richly textured packages, edited in innovate and creative ways. In 2014 he won Silver for Best Short Feature at the PPI Radio Awards for his work on the programme.
In 2015 Liam was selected by AIR as one of 14 radio producers to take part in Full Spectrum -a weeklong creative workshop in Brooklyn, New York, led by award-winning documentarian Kara Oehler and taught by veteran storytellers from “This American Life,” Gimlet Media, ProPublica and WNYC.
Liam also produces and presents reports for Inside Culture, The Book Show, The History Show, The Media Show as well as the science series What’s It All About? and the philosophical series Life Matters, all on RTÉ Radio 1.
Liam has been a guest contributor to the Marian Finucane show (RTÉ Radio 1) and The Dave Fanning Show (2fm) and he produced several features for RTÉ 1916 – the centenary anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
In 2017 Liam recorded the Doc On One mockumentary Surviving Ireland written by Colm Tobin and Aidan O’Donovan.
Prior to that he was a reporter on RTÉ Lyric fm’s daily arts show Culture File, produced reports for The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk and hosted The Musical Hour on Dublin City fm. He has also produced entertainment inserts for 2fm.
Liam has also produced documentaries with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
