Of Puppets & Masks: Backstage at The Lion King in Dublin

Transforming the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin into the Serengeti Plains is difficult enough without having to populate it with elephants, birds, hyenias and lions, but the task is met with gusto by Will Pearce – the man behind the masks and indeed puppets used in the stage production of The Lion King UK & Ireland tour. I went backstage to to talk to Will.

A River Runs Through It

I had a great time producing this segment in Meath with Richard Curran (columnist for The Sunday Business Post, presenter of Dragons’ Den) who was guest hosting The Business.

‘Boyne Valley Activites and Cultural Tourism Ireland are two Co. Meath businesses that have emerged from the collapse of the construction sector. Both are using our medieval history as the basis of their new ventures. We took a trip to Trim to meet former carpenter Dara Llewellyn, former fitter James Murray, and archeologist Steve Mandel.’
